WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton had 16 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 23 Purdue beat IUPUI 80-44 in the Boilermakers' season-opener Sunday. FahKara Malone added 12 points and Jodi Howell and Brittany Rayburn each had 11 for Purdue. The Boilermakers improved to 33-1 all-time in home openers and 12-0 against teams from the Summit League. Jernisha Cann had 17 points, 13 rebounds and three steals for the Jaguars (1-1), who shot 24 percent from the field and went nearly 10 minutes in the second half without scoring a point. Purdue used a 23-2 run after halftime to open a commanding 68-25 advantage with 8 minutes left. IUPUI got a Julia Whitted jumper less than three minutes into the second half and didn't score again until Cann's basket with 7:43 left. To read more please click here. |
