Lady Lions Close Out Non-Conference Home Slate Against Bucknell Tuesday

Toys for Tots night fans get a discounted ticket with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy; Fans can enter to win Rose Bowl tickets

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.; December 8, 2008 — The Penn State Lady Lions (4-4) finish their non-conference home schedule against I-80 foe Bucknell (3-3) on Tuesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center. The game will tip at 6:30 p.m., and can be seen on the Big Ten Network.
 
PROMOTIONS: Tuesday is Toys for Tots night for Lady Lion basketball where fans who donate a new unwrapped toy can receive a free youth ticket or a $5 adult ticket. Fans will also have an opportunity to win tickets to see the Nittany Lion football team take on the USC Trojans in the Rose Bowl.
 
TV/RADIO/WEB: The game can be seen on the Big Ten Network with Jenn Hildreth (play-by-play) and Theresa Grentz (color) calling the action. The contest can also be heard on the Penn State Sports Radio Network with Jerry Fisher (play-by-play) and Kellie Goodman (color) describing play. The game will air locally WMAJ. LAST TIME OUT: A slow start on Saturday afternoon spelled doom for the Penn State Lady Lions (4-4) as they dropped a 67-66 decision to Dayton (6-3) at the Bryce Jordan Center, snapping a 16-game non-conference home winning streak. Penn State missed its first 10 shots and shot just 25.0% from the field with nine turnovers in the first half. Sophomore post Janessa Wolff led three Lady Lions in double figures with 17 points, including her first career three-pointer. Junior Tyra Grant, who connected on a three-pointer in traffic with two seconds left to make it a one-point game, had 14 points and two assists.  
 
SCOUTING BUCKNELL: The Bison are 3-3 on the season, but have lost three in a row heading into the Jordan Center. Amanda Brown leads Bucknell in scoring at 15.0 per game clip, while Joyce Novacek accounts for 9.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
